THE END OF OUR PIEFCITOS JOURNEY

Hi everyone,

Once the classes have come to an end, it is time to resume the different activities that we have developed all along the year.

At the beginning of October, our school was involved in the development of a national project called "El camino de Piefcitos", which was created to promote health-focused values, such as the physical activities, mental health, healthy nutrition or the environmental care.

The project had the objective to travel a fictitious path thanks to effort of all our students and their families, transforming many different activities and challenges into kilometers. For example, by bringing healthy lunches to school, recycling, participating on extracurricular sporty activities, taking part on cultural events...

And here are the results:

- Among all the courses involved we have achieved 38.759 kilometers.

- Nearly all the courses have traveled 11 of the 17 autonomous communities.

- The classes that have achieved the biggest amount of kilometers were, 5ºA, 4ºA and 4ºB.

We would like to thank all of our students and their families for the effort and we encourage you to continue working during the summer.

DOUBLE DUTCH BUS CHALLENGE AND RHYTHM GAMES

Hi everyone,

Here we are again, with information about our 3rd and 4th grade students. During this last quarter of the year we have been able to playing different rythm games and practicing for viral challenges as the Double Dutch Bus Challenge.

In order to improve the coordinative and rhythmic abilities of our students we have playing under different types of stimuli, being able to mention musical games such as the musical chairs or visual games, such as the Just Dance.

But the most interesting part of this unit, was the collective creations of varied coreographies to get over the challenge unit: the Double Dutch Bus Challenge.

In this challenge, the students have to adapt their steps to the playing grid, introducing jumps, way changes, claps, gestures and also their clothing. Here you have, some examples.

BICYCLE'S WEEK

Hi again, double portion of physical education news to start in the best possible way this month.

This week we have enjoyed our bicicle´s week. As you already know, every year our school plans a bunch of activities related to the bicycle. Mechanics, physical activity, road safety, enviromental care, first aids, cycle and many others. 

All along these days, our children have learned how to repair their bikes, they have improved their bicycle skills by cycling at skill circuits, in nature, taking part on duatlon challenges and also on exercise bikes. Here you have some photos and videos.

Nevertheless, we had the opportunity to enjoy many other different events, such as the visit of  very interesting people that enriched our week, highlighting the first aids conference, the cycle sessions or the interview with Maj Kovacevic, basketball player actually playing for Real Valladolid.

 In 3 years old classes they are learning the different parts of the body through the typical song 

" Head, shoulders, knees and toes". 

KNOWING NEW ALTERNATIVE SPORTS

Hi everyone,

Here we are again, with information about our 3rd and 4th grade students. During this second quarter of the year we have been able to get to know and practice different alternative sports such as colpbol or datchball.

But, what are alternative sports? Alternative sports are understood as physical and sporty activities that have been born mainly for educational porpuses, seeking objectives such as coeducation, coexistence or equality.

As we have said, we have been able to begin to learn about two sports such as Datchball and Colpbol.

Datchball is a divided court sport in which 2 teams throw balls at each other with the aim of hitting the rivals. Here you can see an explanatory video.

While Colpbol, is an invasion sport similar to handball in which two teams hit the ball only with pats, trying to get it into the opponent's goal. You can see an explanatory video right here.

So, as we always tell you, go out and practice sports, because there is always something new to learn.
